The Dutch manufacturing industry is running at full speed. Despite corona, companies have not been idle in recent years in terms of innovation. The upcoming TechniShow and ESEF Maakindustrie offer the chance to catch up and experience for yourself how manufacturing can be even easier and more efficient. Jaarbeurs, TechniShow, ESEF Maakindustrie and MTL Metaal Magazine are jointly holding an MTL Talk about the upcoming trade shows. The webinar can be followed live on June 28.
Since 2018, the last TechniShow/ESEF Maakindustrie, the industry in the Benelux has not come together on such a large scale. Meanwhile, developments at numerous manufacturers and suppliers of industrial production techniques, processing and machining of metals and plastics, accessories and tools, have certainly not stood still. Between August 30 and September 2, they would like to tell you about it and also demonstrate it. The perfect opportunity to get up to speed again.
Flexible Producing
But what exactly can visitors expect? André Gaalman, president of FPT-VIMAG paints a picture of the upcoming fair during MTL Talk.
"The Dutch manufacturing industry has a good starting position with full order books. And the high-tech (semiconductor) industry works as a catalyst chain-wide. Customers here are increasingly demanding small and many different series. Flexible production therefore makes smart industry more important than ever."
Earning on circularity
"Smart industry will also increasingly be combined with circularity in the future," Mark Courage, director of smart industry at TNO, told MTL Talk.
"In the future, manufacturers will be responsible not only for the products they make, but also for end-of-life collection and recycling."
Digitization brings individual production parts and costs into clear focus. In his view, if these costs are transparent, it is possible to earn money on them. "It is good to anticipate this now," says Courage, who will also hold a session on this subject during TechniShow/ESEF Maakindustrie.
Responding to challenges
Challenges for the industry also exist, for example in the supply of materials and electronic components and the acute shortage of skilled technical personnel.
During this free webinar, Gaalman and Courage will discuss the ways in which the industry is responding to this and being proactive about it. And that this includes opportunities to work smarter by automating specific processes.
During MTL Talk, Niels van Olffen (Mr. Servitization) will outline what he, as a visitor, will look for when visiting the trade show. Editor-in-chief Tom van der Meer of MTL Metaal Magazine will present the webinar.
"It will be a good fair."
TechniShow and ESEF will be combined this edition. "That's different than usual, but it will be a good fair anyway," says the FPT-VIMAG president.
"In any case, I expect more trade visitors and decision-makers. Above all, it is important and very good to be able to see each other again in trade fair context and to catch up."
