Increased productivity and job satisfaction with the Fresh Factory

It is time for a new standard in factories and production halls. A standard in which solutions lead to clean air, sufficient light and a pleasant temperature. That is not only better for the people who work, it is better for the entire operation. The Frisse Fabriek helps realize less absenteeism, fewer production errors and therefore higher production and better results. At ESEF Maakindustrie, experience for yourself at Colt International's stand what the Fresh Factory does and what it can do for you.

They are images from sequels times: the factories and production halls where, through a small skylight, a beam of light illuminates the dusty air and where sweaty people do their work behind machines emitting all kinds of steam and smoke. The modern workplace looks different: we work with more light, the air is cleaner than before but also the temperature has been addressed. Yet, unfortunately, there are still plenty of workplaces where working conditions are not yet fully optimized. This can have major consequences. For example, every degree above 20°C is a 4% decrease in productivity. That means that on a hot summer day, or an area where there are many machines that produce heat, there is a large decrease in productivity.

A pleasant working environment
It is a myth that a good working climate is achieved simply by installing an air conditioner somewhere. There are many more factors that determine the experience of a pleasant working climate. Because in addition to temperature, the humidity, radiation temperature and air quality must also be considered. Only when all of these variables are in balance with each other can success be achieved. There are proven methods to test that success. One of these is the Fanger method, which was the basis for the NEN ISO 7730. This uses the PMV (Predicted Mean Vote) and PPD (Precentage Persons Dissatisfied) as parameters to assess the comfort of the climate.

Ultimately, a pleasant working environment does not just depend on the right temperature and humidity. Air pollution also plays an important role. Nobody is waiting for a hall full of dirty air or chemical fumes, besides the fact that it is unpleasant to work there are plenty of health risks involved. Good ventilation or supply of fresh, clean air is necessary in the overall concept of a good working environment.

Less absenteeism and better performance
It's not just the employee's benefit. The entire business process benefits from a well-regulated climate. There will be less absenteeism, the performance of the employees in the hall will increase and the production process will also experience benefits. If a product is made where a millimeter or nanometer deviation is already too much, one degree Celsius is also too much. So it's not just an investment in employee well-being, it's an investment in optimizing existing processes even further with a wonderful end result: higher, consistent product quality. Satisfied employees and satisfied customers.
