Are AGVs relevant to your operation? Do you need to move toward a paperless factory? How do you communicate with customers and suppliers? The Digitization Square provides the answers to your questions. In 4 steps you go through the digitization process, making it easy for you to take the next step in Smart Industry.

This year ESEF Maakindustrie, together with the specialists from MKG and Supplydrive, does offer a very interesting meeting place for fair visitors. After previous concepts, which had to represent the old versus new situation in the field of digitization, it is now about a square. The goal: to give every visitor independent advice for the next digitization step within their own organization, regardless of which software is being used."[/column_text][youtube_video code="OHyqU4EhD_s" description="Chain integration, discover the possibilities with MKG"][column_text]

Digitizing can be learned

The digitization process, and the steps you can take in the world of Smart Industry, are important for companies in the manufacturing industry: by focusing on digitization and automation, you save money, make your production processes more sustainable, and respond to the large personnel shortage. Although the digitization process is essential for the development of companies, not all companies are ready for this change. But: digitization can be learned!

Because MKG works closely with Supplydrive, which specializes in integrations of and connections between the most common software systems, the company has the right know-how in the field of digital networks."[/column_text][column_text]

From orientation to optimization

According to Eric Bakker, manager of consultancy at MKG and owner of Supplydrive, it is clear: the manufacturing industry is and still works quite conventionally, preferably with pen & paper. That can and must change. "We want to show: people, it can be done this way! We are now a few years further on, we now know: we can always help you, no matter what stage of digitization you are in."[/column_text][column_text]The stages Eric Bakker is talking about show how far the business is already with the digitization of the production process. The practice recognizes in this:

  1. The orientation phase: the entrepreneur recognizes (container) terms such as "Smart Industry" and "digital factory" through a neighbor, a colleague or the news and focuses on them first.
  2. The preparation phase: getting the company ready for change. Employees must come along, both in terms of mindset and skills.

Eric Bakker: "For organizations, it really is a culture change due to changing operations. It also requires more IT skills. The new younger generation adapts to this much more easily."

  1. The Getting Started phase: The company gets to work on the first internal software integrations and external lines to customers. This is necessary to eventually establish a digital factory internally and become part of a digital chain externally.
  2. The optimization phase: Everything is in place and processes are running. Where can the company still optimize or expand? What are the next steps in the digital world?

At the Digitization Square, you will walk through these four stages and ultimately hear what the next steps might be. You will thus receive appropriate advice for your company.[/column_text][column_text]

Smart Industry on the agenda

Not all companies yet have a sharp focus on a topic like digitization. Eric Bakker: "Often, when I talk to companies about Smart Industry and digitalization, it turns out that they are not very involved. While every entrepreneur must have this on the agenda, whatever phase you are in. Otherwise you will drop out of the chain. It goes so fast, if you look at transition and development and then you're too late."

With the Digitalization Square, ESEF Maakindustrie, MKG and Supplydrive want to create awareness and confidence on the above topics: everyone can start this for their company. Moreover, it is not only an important but also a creative process. Digitizing makes work more fun![/column_text][column_text]That it will be fun is shown by the special helper on the exhibition floor: "We have an AGV (automated guided vehicle) driving around, in collaboration with Kumatech, and it provides the coffee. It's a playful way to get acquainted with what's possible with digitization," said Eric Bakker.

Another example: Hoffmann Group's automated inventory closet - another great collaboration. This cabinet shows how easy it is to integrate your inventory recording with ERP systems.

So, do you need advice on digitizing your business? The experts at the plaza will be happy to talk to you over a cup of coffee.[/column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][column_text]
